PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia participated in the SAF APAC Summit 2025 held in Melbourne

PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia (Head office: Jakarta, President Director: Rumi Hoshino, hereinafter “SBI”) participated as a panelist at the SAF APAC Summit 2025 held in Melbourne, Australia, from July 16 to 17, 2025. This summit served as a regional platform to advance the innovation and adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), bringing together global stakeholders working on decarbonizing the aviation sector.

SBI’s representative, Rumi Hoshino, participated in a panel discussion titled “Addressing the Feedstock Challenge: Availability, Diversity, and Competition,” discussing biomass feedstock procurement, diversification, and competition with food crops through SBI’s operations in Indonesia.

Participating Companies and Organizations in this Panel Discussion

  • Bioenergy Australia Ltd & CSIRO (Australian Government Agencies)
  • PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia, Grainstone, & Australian Sugar Manufactured (Biomass Feedstock Suppliers)
  • Neste & Axens (Companies possessing SAF manufacturing technology)

During the panel discussion, SBI shared local insights and trends regarding the procurement and processing of diverse biomass feedstocks in Indonesia (particularly palm oil residues, agricultural byproducts, and forestry waste). These feedstocks hold untapped potential as sustainable and cost-effective raw materials for SAF production in the Asia-Pacific region.

SBI is expanding its efforts to build an international SAF ecosystem and advancing continuous development to support the low-carbon energy transition through biomass technological innovation. Furthermore, we believe that promoting SAF adoption requires cross-border cooperation, feedstock diversification, and building locally rooted value chains.

Moving forward, we will continue to effectively utilize Indonesia’s biomass resources, contributing step by step toward global decarbonization. If you are interested in our business, please feel free to contact us at the following address.
