PT Santomo Green Power Management (Head Office: Jakarta, President: Shuntaro Yamaguchi, hereinafter “SGPM”), the Indonesian operating company of Santomo Group’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) business, has launched a collaboration with PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia (Head Office: Jakarta, President: Sugito Walujo, hereinafter “Gojek”) in Surabaya, East Java, to supply electric motorcycles to Gojek drivers. A launch event for this collaboration was held on May 27, 2025.
Under this partnership, SGPM provides Gojek drivers with Smoot battery-swapping electric motorcycles for rental, contributing to Gojek’s initiatives toward vehicle electrification and decarbonization. Two models are currently available: “De-Sultan” and “Zuzu”, with rental fees set at Rp 45,000 per day and Rp 40,000 per day, respectively. Battery-swapping services are offered under an unlimited daily plan for Rp 25,000, with approximately 100 swap locations across Surabaya and its surrounding areas, including convenience stores such as Alfamart.
Beyond motorcycle rentals, this collaboration also establishes a broad cooperative framework, including rental fee collection through Gojek’s system, in-app advertising for drivers, and the installation and operation of battery-swapping stations at Gojek’s Surabaya office.
At the launch event on May 27, SGPM and Gojek signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), accompanied by a speech from the East Java provincial government, a battery-swapping demonstration, and a parade of 50 drivers riding electric motorcycles through Surabaya city—showcasing the potential for an EV shift in the region.
Through this collaboration, Santomo Group and SGPM will further contribute to vehicle electrification and decarbonization in Indonesia.
