On December 16, 2023, during the MOU photo session at the ASEAN-Japan Economic Co-Creation Forum held at Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, PT Santomo Resources Indonesia (Head office: Jakarta; President Director: Tomoichi Yamaguchi), an Indonesian subsidiary of Santomo Resources Corporation (Head office: Tokyo; President: Tomoichi Yamaguchi; hereinafter “Santomo”) and PPT Energy Trading Corporation (Head office: Tokyo, President Director: Fuadi Arif Nasution), publicly announced the MOU signed between the two parties.
The MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) focuses on establishing a system for the small-scale supply of various types of biomass fuel, which is abundant in Indonesia, to biomass power plants in Japan.
The ASEAN-Japan Economic Co-Creation Forum was held alongside the ASEAN-Japan Special Summit, where discussions were held on the latest efforts by both the public and private sectors, including Prime Minister Kishida, the ASEAN Secretariat, and various organizations worldwide working toward decarbonization, sharing the latest initiatives and exchanging opinions on the future direction.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan friendship and cooperation, making it even more significant to accelerate collaboration between Japan and ASEAN in the business sector.
Santomo will continue to develop business while building cooperative relationships with various countries, toward the decarbonization not only in Indonesia, but also throughout ASEAN.
